St Margaret’s church dates in part to the Norman period but was extensively renovated in the late 19th century by local architect James Fowler. Light refreshments will be served in the village hall.
Our weekend is entitled: ‘Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines’. Bucknall airfield was the home to 33 Squadron Royal Flying Corps between 1916 and 1919. St Margaret’s Church will have exhibitions to commemorate the airfield and also mark the WWI centenary. We’ll also have church and community heritage items on display too.
