Mareham on the Hill Parish Church is one of the old Lincolnshire “white walk” churches. The white painted (lime-washed) outside was for making the church visible from a distance and stand out for walkers making their pilgrimage way round the White Walk. It is the oldest Church in our benefice, dating from the 12th Century, although the nave was rebuilt in 1804. It has an interesting double-decker pulpit and unusual blue box pews. The churchyard offers beautiful views across the valley to the higher Wolds.
