Thimbleby, St Margaret

Thimbleby St Margaret (church's own photo),
the tower will be in a state of renovation during the festival
Our church should be in a state of renovation during the Churches Festival.  Due to the failure of building materials, notably the lime mortar, the spire had to be removed for safety reasons. There will be an exhibition of drawings and photographs of the work in progress showing the rebuilding of the belfry and spire in new stonework, the restoration of the clock and improved access.  The church was built of Spilsby limestone in 1744 to replace a larger medieval church but was rebuilt and enlarged in 1879 when the rogue mortar was used.

Opening times:
Saturday 10am–5pm
Sunday 10am–5pm

Postcode: LN9 5RE
